Green Star Training
Green Star Training is designed to teach a new recruit the basics of cadet life. The Green Star course has a greater emphasis on drill than any other star level. All of the most common drill movements are taught in this course. The aspects of the Green Star Course include:
PO 401 Drill - a cadet will learn how to properly execute basic drill movements;
PO 402 Fundamental Training - a cadet will learn about the structure of the cadet corps and how to interact with senior officers and NCOs;
PO 403 Bushcraft - a cadet will learn how to live in the field on training exercises;
PO 405 Map and Compass - a cadet will learn about the
topographical map and its use while on a Field Training Exercise;
PO 406 Marksmanship - a cadet will learn about the safety precautions
required to use the Daisy Air Rifle, principles of marksmanship, range commands
and procedures, and conduct a familiarization shoot with the Daisy Air Rifle;
PO 410 Public Speaking - a cadet will learn how to properly write and present a one minute speech;
PO 411 Leadership - a cadet will learn how he or she fits in to the chain of
command and what is expected of them as a follower;
PO 412 Citizenship - a cadet will learn about the duties and responsibilities
of a citizen; and
PO 413 Physical Fitness - a cadet will learn about the importance of
physical fitness in daily life.
These aspects are seen throughout the other star levels, however, the degree of complexity
and difficulty will increase each year.
