The Calgary Highlander Pipes and Drums offers an excellent
opportunity to learn how to play the bagpipes, side drum, tenor drum and bass drum.
The band is open to any member of the cadet corps and will supply free instruction,
instruments and uniforms. The band meets every Thursday night from
1800hrs to 2100hrs. Rehearsal is divided into two parts: instrument
specific practice and band practice. The band has performed with the
Calgary Highlanders Regimental Pipe Band. They have also played at various
legions around the city for Remembrance Day and individual pipers have played
for special events such as the grand opening of the Arbour Lake Seniors Home and
the Swim Meet competition at the Talisman Centre.
